	ABOUT US Dr. Hilda Hattar's passion for helping people since she was a young girl had sparked her to become a doctor. But it wasn’t until she met her high school physiology teacher, Mrs. Sheila Emmett, that she knew she would become a chiropractic physician. "As a girl, I used to accompany my grandmother to her doctor's appointments as her translator. All that I ever witnessed was my grandmother getting more and more prescription drugs for her ailments. So when Mrs. Emmett took me to one of her chiropractic appointments and I saw how they treated her with acupuncture and chiropractic adjustments, I was determined that I had found my calling." 	Jamie Smith has worked in the medical field for the past 6 years. While going to school for massage therapy she worked as a CNA at a nursing home and hospital. Jamie graduated from Kishwaukee College, Massage Therapy program in September of 2008. Jamie is a certified and licensed Massage Therapist, Pre-natal and also part of the AMTA and NCBTMB. Jamie has always had a passion for being able to help others and working in the medical field as a massage therapist has helped her accomplish her goal.

	Jenny Hemann graduated from the Kishwaukee College Therapeutic Massage program in August of 2011. She is a member of the AMTA and is nationally certified in therapeutic massage through NCBTMB. She is currently a volunteer firefighter and EMT-B with the Lynn Scott Rock fire department. Jenny graduated from the University of Illinois in 1999 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Science. She was previously employed as a farrowing manager for 12 years at County Line Port L.L.C. Jenny enjoys helping and working with people and is proud to be a part of our team.

	Andrea Brummel graduated HS from Hampshire High in 2001. She studied at SIUC and NIU and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Child and family services in December of 2006. She continued her education at Kishwaukee Community College and became Certified in Basic Nursing Assisting in August of 2008. She worked her way through college at Niko's Restaurants for 8 years, while also working at Dekalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for 2 years before she became employed at Balance Chiropractic.

	Melissa Neblock has worked in the Administrative field for many years with the United States Air Force and has recently joined our team. She completed her AABA Concentrating in Human Resources in 2009 and is the progress of completing her BA concentrating in HealthCare Management at this time.

	Alysa Radtke is a Reiki Master and CraniosSacral therapist. She has experienced personal validation of how various forms of body/energy work can improve a person's quality of life in such a positive way. This work balances the whole person including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. She has developed a personalized intuitive approach to restore vital energy once “blockages” are identified. Each session includes a variety of custom blended music, meditation techniques, chakra stones and aromatherapy. She often works with her client's to create appropriate exercises for them to do in between sessions, as she has found that those who partake in these activities tend to reach their goals much faster. She continually seeks training and education in areas that are unique, beneficial, and experiential for you. She is available for sessions by appointment only.
